Introduction to deejaying: how to spin vinyl (45 and 33 LPs) and to spice up your performance in the same style as the first Jamaican sound systems DJs.
Learning about the history of sound systems from their origins to present day Jamaica and France (studying the development of various musical styles and symoblic artists via sound and video excerpts, vinyl and dubplates...)
*Introduction to the activity of selector and to toasting, also called deejaying (chanting).
*Writing lyrics and laying them onto riddim (instrumentation) and recording a musical piece as a group.
*Making personalized album covers with magic markers, inspired by the graphic universe of Wilfred Limonious.
*Each participant will leave with an album and a cover custom-made in the spirit of the legendary "dubplates."
