Tengers

by Mikael J. Rix

Tengers

Social satire in play dough.

The first feature-length work of South African Kunjanimation,* directed by Michael Rix out of modeling clay and over a period of 6 years! An affectionate satire of modern life in South Africa, the films features Rob, a scribbler in his twenties who is supposed to be writing THE South African novel of the century. He lives –or rather survives— in the Gauteng province of Jo’burg, whose residents are called Tengers. His life changes the day he buys a winning lottery ticket and becomes the target of all sorts of greed.
