New digital moving image remains at the heart of La Gaite Lyrique. Curated by contributor Claire Spencer Cook, this specially created selection celebrates the myriad forms of contemporary moving image heralding from Berlin, from short films and animation, to music videos, installations and experimental artistic work. The video programme seeks to shine a light on both established creatives and award winning projects as well as new talent and original, rarely seen videos. A snapshot of the ever-changing international audiovisual scene from one of the world’s coolest cities. 

Claire Spencer Cook

Claire returned to onedotzero in 2009 as a Senior Producer and Curator for online, the festival and touring, where for 4 years previously she worked as a Producer, programming and managing international events, festivals, the DVD label and short film distribution. Prior to this, Claire was the Senior Producer for BBC Film Network, the BBC's online showcase for new British filmmaking talent. She launched and produced the Kermode Uncut video blog for film critic Mark Kermode and has commissioned and produced the annual BBC short film production schemes with BBC Films. She has also worked in both development and commissioning of short form web series for MTV Italy’s new talent portal ‘Qoob’. Prior to this, Claire worked as a Producer of short form content at Stink Productions and kicked off her career in film distribution for atomfilms, the US-based short film entertainment site. She started out in film by studying French and German with European Cinema at Cambridge University.
