À travers cette enquête, c’est l’histoire de ces sites qui est retracée : les galeries Eltiqa, Jamal et Shababik. À partir de ces matériaux, Iconem propose une expérience immersive unique grâce à la reconstitution en 3D de ces espaces.

Le film traverse le passé, le présent et le futur, donnant forme à des environnements fragmentés qui apparaissent comme suspendus dans l’espace. Guidé par des voix et des témoignages, le·la spectateur·ice navigue entre archives et imaginaires dans un récit immersif où la mémoire, la disparition et la réinvention s’entrelacent.

INVISIBLE: an immersive film on Gaza's cultural heritage

INVISIBLE builds on the research conducted by the Palestinian collective Dahaleez, which gathers documents, interviews, photographs, and archives to preserve the memory of emblematic cultural sites in Gaza that have now been destroyed. Through this investigation, they retrace the history of spaces such as Eltiqa, Jamal, and Shababik galleries. Drawing on this material, Iconem has created a unique immersive experience through 3D reconstructions of these sites.The film moves across past, present, and future, shaping fragmented environments suspended in space. Guided by voices and testimonies, viewers navigate between archives and imagination in an immersive narrative where memory, disappearance, and reinvention intertwine.

À propos / About

Le collectif Dahaleez a été fondé en 2021 comme une initiative à la croisée de la recherche et de la pratique artistique, ancrée dans une réflexion sur l'impact du temps et de l'espace dans la construction de l'expérience palestinienne sous siège.

Son premier projet, Geography of Divine Magic, présenté dans le lieu historique Beit Al-Ghussein à Gaza, a constitué un moment fondateur dans l'élaboration d'une méthodologie collective reposant sur la contemplation, la relecture et la production de savoirs à partir de l'expérience elle-même, plutôt que depuis un point de vue extérieur.

Depuis 2023, le collectif a élargi son champ d'action avec le projet Transcending the Possible Future, conçu comme un laboratoire de pensée collective autour de la question du futur. Ce processus a abouti à la rédaction d'un manifeste fondateur, posant les bases théoriques et méthodologiques de leur approche artistique. Cette trajectoire s'est ensuite développée dans le projet en cours Tabu, structuré autour d'ateliers collectifs impliquant des processus de remémoration, de reconstruction de la mémoire collective et de documentation de témoignages visuels et textuels, à travers une diversité d'outils - de l'archive à l'observation de terrain, en passant par des pratiques artistiques contemplatives.

À travers ce travail, Dahaleez cherche à développer des outils d'analyse permettant de comprendre l'impact des violences structurelles et des politiques coloniales sur la formation de l'imaginaire palestinien, ainsi que sur les possibilités d'envisager un avenir de libération et de reconstruction. Le collectif s'appuie sur des pratiques collaboratives qui engagent artistes et chercheur·euses dans des processus de production partagés, fondés sur des expériences de terrain, des expérimentations artistiques et des formes d'attention collective.

The Dahaleez collective was formed in 2021 as an artistic-research initiative grounded in questioning the impact of time and space on shaping the Palestinian experience under siege. Its first launch came through the project "Geography of Divine Magic", exhibited at the historic Beit Al-Ghussein in Gaza, which constituted a founding moment for building a shared methodology based on contemplation, re-reading, and producing knowledge from within the experience rather than from outside it.

Since 2023, the group has expanded its scope of work through the project "Transcending the Possible Future", which served as a laboratory for collective thinking around the question of the future. This process resulted in its founding manifesto, which established the theoretical and research foundations of its artistic approach. The trajectory later developed into the ongoing project "Tabu", built on collective workshops that involve processes of remembering, reconstructing collective memory, and documenting visual and textual testimonies using multiple tools-from archiving and field observation to contemplative artistic practice.

Through this work, Dahaleez seeks to develop analytical tools for understanding the impact of structural violence and colonial policies on shaping the Palestinian imagination, and on the possibilities of envisioning a future of liberation and reconstruction. The group relies on collaborative practices that engage artists and researchers in shared processes of production, grounded in contemplative encounters, artistic experimentation, and fieldwork.
