Salman Nawati est un artiste visuel qui enseigne les arts plastiques et dirige des programmes artistiques depuis plus de dix ans. Son exploration artistique a été nourrie par une expérience transformatrice lors de sa résidence à la Cité internationale des arts à Paris, durant laquelle il a fondé le Sahab Museum avec le collectif Hawaf. Il est également l’un des membres fondateurs du collectif Dahaleez.
Au cours de sa carrière, Salman Nawati a joué un rôle actif dans le paysage culturel, notamment en tant que directeur artistique de plusieurs festivals et en tant qu’enseignant à la Faculté des beaux-arts de l’université Al-Aqsa. Sa pratique artistique pluridisciplinaire traverse différents médiums, parmi lesquels la peinture, la photographie, le film, le théâtre et la musique. Son travail reflète profondément la complexité des conflits, qu’il s’agisse des luttes intérieures individuelles ou des défis sociaux et environnementaux plus larges auxquels le monde est confronté. Son œuvre constitue un moyen d’explorer les questions d’identité, de résilience et de condition humaine.
En parallèle de ses projets personnels, il a réalisé plusieurs expositions individuelles. Salman Nawati a également participé à de nombreuses expositions collectives dans des institutions prestigieuses, parmi lesquelles le Palais de Tokyo à Paris, l’Institut du monde arabe à Paris, The Mosaic Rooms à Londres, l’École supérieure des beaux-arts d’Aix-en-Provence, la Sharjah Architecture Triennial à Dubaï, la Fondation A.M. Qattan à Ramallah, ainsi que les Centres culturels français de Gaza, Ramallah et Jérusalem, entre autres.
Salman Nawati is a visual artist who has been a visual arts teacher and director of arts programs for over a decade. His artistic exploration was fueled by a transformative experience during his residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris while founding the Sahab Museum with the Hawaf collective. Salman has made significant participation in group exhibitions at many prestigious venues, including the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Arab World Institute in Paris, the Mosaic Rooms in London, Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Aix-en-Provence, the Sharjah Architecture Triennial in Dubai, the A.M. Qattan Foundation in Ramallah, and the French Cultural Centers in Gaza, Ramallah, and Jerusalem, among others.
