Sahab est une initiative artistique développée par le collectif Hawaf. Depuis 2021, elle réunit des artistes et chercheur·euses afin de soutenir la création contemporaine palestinienne, tout en imaginant de nouvelles façons de préserver et de partager cette mémoire culturelle. Né de l’idée du Sahab Imaginary Museum, le projet explore comment l’art, l’imagination et les outils numériques peuvent contribuer à la construction d’infrastructures culturelles au-delà des frontières et de l’isolement. Plutôt que de fonctionner comme une institution traditionnelle, Sahab se déploie comme une plateforme décentralisée combinant production artistique, programmes de recherche, ateliers et bourses.
À travers ses activités, Sahab soutient les artistes dans la production de nouvelles œuvres, facilite les échanges et développe des espaces numériques où différentes œuvres, archives et idées peuvent circuler à une échelle internationale. Au cœur du projet se trouve une ambition commune : soutenir la vie artistique et l’imagination collective malgré les conditions actuelles de fragmentation et de déplacement.
A new artistic initiative for contemporary palestinian creation
Sahab is an artistic initiative developed by the Hawaf collective. Since 2021, it brings together artists and researchers to support contemporary Palestinian creation while imagining new ways of preserving and sharing cultural memory. Born from the idea of the Sahab Imaginary Museum, the project explores how art, imagination and digital tools can help build cultural infrastructures beyond borders and isolation. Rather than functioning as a traditional institution, Sahab operates as a distributed platform combining creative production, research programs, workshops and grants.
Through its different activities, Sahab supports artists in producing new work, facilitates exchanges, and develops digital spaces where artworks, archives and ideas can circulate internationally. At the heart of the project lies a shared ambition: to sustain artistic life and collective imagination despite conditions of fragmentation and displacement.
