One of the most legendary British sound systems of the 80's, a rising star on the French collective scene, and the head of quintessential London label Honest Jon's

The most mythical of the 80s British reggae sound systems had never played in France!

Renowned for its exclusive tracks obtained through close ties with the crème de la crème of Jamaican producers, including King Jammy, legendary big daddy Robert "Ribs" Fearon is showing up with his two MCs to bring us a set with sounds of "early digital" and retro-futuristic reggae, straight out of the era when Unity Sounds reigned supreme on the London dancehalls.

For their second summer gig at La Gaîté Lyrique, the members of Rouen-based Blackboard Jungle will make our walls shake.  This leading sound-system on the French scene can keep up with the hottest British sounds.  Following Jah Observer for the Roots Block Party, sound clash with Unity Sounds.

For the first part of the show, Mark Ainley seemed like a logical choice: as the head of British reissue label Honest Jon's, he is largely responsible for the return of Unity Sounds' productions to the spotlight via the unstoppable compilation 'Watch How The People Dancing – Unity sounds from the London Dancehall 1986-89'.

Ready for the Dancehall tonight?
